Philipp Schwartz Initiative – 3rd Call for Applications

1409teg_2a5b16fdbf4c69aResearch institutions in Germany can apply for funding from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation to support threatened researchers, in the context of the 3rd call for applications of the Philipp Schwartz Initiative. Successful institutions will receive funding to grant research fellowships to threatened scientists and scholars for research stays in Germany of up to 24 months. In addition, funding is available to create corresponding support structures at the host institutions. An accompanying support program will foster the exchange of experiences between interested institutions, drawing on the expertise of the Scholars at Risk Network, the Scholar Rescue Fund, and the Council for At-Risk Academics.

In the current call for applications, about 30 fellowships are available. Kindly note that researchers cannot apply directly but must be nominated by a suitable institution. The application for the University of Göttingen will be carried out by Nadine Dreyer, Head of the Welcome Centre. She will be happy to advise you if a certain person is eligible for funding with regard to his/her status. Due to the limited number of scholarships, an internal university selection may be required. Unsuccessful applications from the last round can be re-submitted (revised). Multiple nominations of several research facilities are excluded this time.

Please send nominations of candidates (including CV and statement by the academic mentor) by March, 20, 2017: nadine.dreyer@zvw.uni-goettingen.de
Deadline: March 31, 2017 University of Göttingen, April 21, 2017 Foundation
