University of Göttingen again involved in a European „Innovative Training Network“ – New enzymes for green chemistry
The “CC-TOP” Consortium, which is coordinated by the TU Darmstadt and headed in Göttingen by Prof. Dr. Kai Tittmann, has been selected for EU funding of a European network for the collaborative training of doctoral candidates.
The aim of the „C-C Bond Formation Using Top Performing Enzymes“ programme – „CC-TOP“ for short – is to qualify 15 doctoral students for future leadership roles in both science and industry in the field of industrial biotechnology. The project consortium, which consists of 12 renowned institutions from science and industry, from six European countries, will be funded with almost four million Euros for a period of four years. Due to the corona pandemic, “CC-TOP” is not expected to start its activities until the beginning of March 2021, in order to ensure the recruitment of international doctoral students at the participating institutions.
Innovative Training Networks (ITN), structured doctoral training networks, are part of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) within the Horizon 2020 programme and aim to support the career development and training of researchers in all scientific disciplines through international and intersectoral mobility. With the help of these networks, the EU promotes transnational and cross-sectoral mobility and career development of researchers, thus enhancing Europe’s attractiveness as a location for science and innovation.
