Research paper by Göttingen PhD student to be published in Astronomy and Astrophysics
Mariam Albekioni, one of the PhD students in the binational, multidisciplinary German-Georgian Lehmann-Haupt doctoral program hosted by the University of Göttingen and Ilia State University “Structured Education – Quality Assurance – Freedom to Think”, has successfully submitted a research paper in co-authorship with her supervisor to a renowned peer-review journal in her field.
The paper by Gizon, Fournier and Albekioni „Effect of latitudinal differential rotation on solar Rossby waves: Critical layers, eigenfunctions, and momentum fluxes in the equatorial beta plane“ has been accepted for publication in Astronomy and Astrophysics.
This is one of many examples for the immense success and high quality of the program, which is on track to make a lasting contribution to a new academic culture for doctoral studies in Georgia.
