Two DAAD funded “A New Passage to India” projects with India at the University of Göttingen
The University of Göttingen is successful in two DAAD funded projects within the program “A New Passage to India – German-Indian Higher Education Cooperations” for the period of 2019-2023. One of the projects is coordinated by the Center for Modern Indian Studies (CeMIS) with eight Indian partner universities. The other project will be coordinated by Göttingen International, which includes 12 Indian partners including Göttingen’s strategic partner institutions such as Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi University, Savitribai Phule Pune University, University of Agricultural Sciences Bangalore, Indian Institute of Gandhinagar and Kanpur and Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Pune and Kolkata. The total funding amount for both projects is around 950,000 Euro.
The projects will focus on the mobility of students and researchers from India and Germany, summer/ winter schools, thematic workshops, excursions and joint projects in the field of social sciences, humanities and natural sciences. The projects will strengthen the existing cooperation with Indian higher education institutions, thus fostering the internationalization strategy of the University of Göttingen.
