Vamos Conoce América Latina!
On 9 – 13 November 2020 the Regional Coordination Office for Latina America and Africa organized the virtual information week “Vamos! Conoce América Latina”. The main objective of the event was to give firsthand information to our students who are interested in studying for a semester at one of our central partner universities in Latin America. During the week, there were daily events in which our colleagues from Latin America met virtually with our students and presented their institutions. Additionally, Latin American students studying in Göttingen organized a Spanish crash course including Latin American slang from different countries and the week was closed with an online cooking class to learn how to prepare Venezuelan arepas, which are corn flatbreads. The activities had a positive outcome with more than a hundred registered participants and in addition to Göttingen University, there were participants from universities in Stuttgart, Munich, Cologne, Osnabrück, Berlin, Hamburg, Bayreuth, Hildesheim, Hanover, Mainz, Darmstadt. “Vamos! Conoce America Latina” is the result of an award-winning proposal from the Idea Competition for Students and was made possible by funds from Ideenmanagement Göttingen Campus QPlus
