New University Partnership with Xiamen University, China
The University of Göttingen has officially established a new university partnership with Xiamen University, China. The General Memorandum for Academic Cooperation comprises all areas of research and teaching at the two partner institutions, and the Memorandum of Understanding on Student and Staff Exchange provides for five exchange places for bachelor and master students per semester. Xiamen University is one of the best universities in China, famous for its excellence in, but not limited to, chemistry, biology, ecology and marine sciences. The new partnership further strengthens the excellent portfolio of Chinese partner universities of the University of Göttingen. Xiamen is an attractive coastal city located in southern Fujian Province on the Taiwan Strait, famous for its beautiful seascape. Based on already established individual scientific collaborations, the new university partnership will facilitate an intensification and expansion of the cooperation in research and teaching with Xiamen University and the development of an intensive student exchange.
