Establishment of the German-Colombian Peace Institute

On 31 August 2016, the University of Göttingen received the official approval of the DAAD for the establishment of the German-Colombian Peace Institute. Start of the New Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree Programme “PlantHealth in Sustainable Cropping Systems”

The new European Master Degree programme in “Plant Health in Sustainable Cropping Systems” has officially started with a kick-off meeting in Valencia in October 2016.  21 students from 13 different countries, as well as the coordinators from the partner Universities attended the meeting.

Agreement for a New Double Degree Programme

A delegation of the Nanjing University Business School (NUBS) visited the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the University of Göttingen on September 5, 2016. During the visit, the deans of Nanjing and Göttingen, Prof. Shen Kunrong and Prof. Dr. Lutz M. Kolbe, signed an agreement for a double degree programme. The IRTG 1816 is a unique collaborative research initiative with partner sites in Germany and UK funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) and the British Heart Foundation, respectively.
Nationwide the IRTG 1816 is the only DFG funded collaborative international PhD programme between a partner site in Germany and UK.
