Save the date: IVAC summer festival (23rd of August until 3rd of September 2021)
We are happy to inform you about the upcoming virtual IVAC summer festival which will take place from the 23rd of August until the 3rd of September 2021.
The IVAC festival – funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (IVAC program) – allows students and teaching staff from the University of Göttingen as well as from international partner universities to partake in a multifaceted program constituted of disciplinary and transdisciplinary events. We invite you to mark the dates in your calender. In workshops, keynotes and panel sessions we can jointly experience “Change of Perspective – Global Learning: Intercultural Experience and Interdisciplinary Diversity”.
Here are some first impressions regarding the events of our IVAC initiatives during the festival:
- VISTA initiative: In several workshops, which will include keynotes from representatives of SARTORIUS AG Göttingen as well as REWE, Germany, participants will examine global supply chains.
- TVAC initiative: Together with their international peers, students and teaching staff will jointly reflect on the “cultural glasses”.
- Global Shakespeare 2.0 initiative: Participants will learn more about country-specific interpretations of the canonical author Shakespeare.
- Fokus Balkan Online initiative: Experiences regarding the implementation of a digital simulation game as transnational teaching method will be communicated.
Moreover, we are happy to announce the following keynote-speakers:
- Dr. Elisa Bruhn-Zass / tbc (German Corporation for International Cooperation)
- Topic: “Virtual Internationalization in Higher Education”
- Prof. Betty Leask (La Trobe University, Melbourne)
- Topic: „Internationalizing the Curriculum”
Alongside disciplinary events, we plan to share experiences with the implementation of Virtual Exchange Scenarios in the IVAC project. Together with you, we aim to reflect on chances and obstacles regarding the further development of such scenarios and support their integration into curricula.
Further information about the program of the IVAC festival will soon be published on the following website: https://www.uni-goettingen.de/ivac-festival.
Registration will approximately start at the end of May 2021.
We look forward to your participation at the international IVAC summer festival 2021.
Best regards
Your IVAC team
