Trilateral German-Chinese Collaboration in Intercultural German Studies

During her trip to China in autumn 2017, Vice-President of the University of Göttingen Prof. Dr. Casper-Hehne signed a trilateral agreement on scientific collaboration in Intercultural German Studies.

The partners are the German-Chinese Institute for Intercultural German Studies and Cultural Comparison at the University of Göttingen, the respective Chinese-German institute at Nanjing University and the German Department of Beijing Foreign Studies University. The partners aim at forming a “Network of Scientific Collaboration”. The already existing bi- or trilateral programmes of the institutions involved shall be intensified and new collaborative programmes shall be initiated. The activities comprise the exchange of guest researchers, doctoral, master and bachelor students as well as joint teaching and research projects. The since 10 years successfully implemented double degree master programme “Intercultural German Studies Germany – China” and the guest lectureship “Cultures in Contact – Artists in Residence” shall be developed further. Furthermore, the language programme “German Excellence” for students of the Humanities at Nanjing University who plan doctoral studies in Germany, shall be extended.
