Visit of the New Indian Consul General in Hamburg to the University of Göttingen

The new Indian Consul General in Hamburg, Madan Lal Raigar, has visited the University of Göttingen on April 12, 2017. On this occasion, he was informed about the cooperation between the University of Göttingen and partner institutions in his home country.

The President of the University, Prof. Dr. Ulrike Beisiegel, received the Consul General in the Aula Building at Wilhelmsplatz. After a welcome meeting, which was attended by the Vice-President for International Affairs, Prof. Dr. Hiltraud Casper-Hehne, and the Head of the Department of Göttingen International, Dr. Uwe Muuss, the Consul General visited the Aula and the Karzer. In further discussions, he was informed about the internationalisation strategy at the Göttingen campus as well as the numerous activities of the liaison office of the University of Göttingen in India.

Subsequently, the Consul General met with researchers from the Center for Modern Indian Studies (CeMIS) and the DFG research group „Social Ecological Systems in the Indian Rural Urban Interface: Functions, Scales and Dynamics of Transition“ as well as with Indian students. He gained insights into the diverse cooperation and exchange in research, teaching and study.
